Now is the time for George Mason University, friends, and family to celebrate all that you have achieved. Attend your School or College’s Winter Graduation Ceremony to commemorate your achievements.

 

Ready, Set, Graduate!

Your final semester at George Mason is going to go faster than you expect. Make sure you complete all the steps required for graduation. We'll keep adding information as it becomes available, so check back regularly!

First: Get the Paperwork Done

Graduation applications are due September 30, 2026. The Registrar's Office has full details on the application process. Certain processes may be delayed if you apply late to graduate. 

You must apply to graduate to be eligible to claim ceremony tickets or receive graduation communications.

Next: Attend the Grad Fair

Attend the Winter Grad Fair to prepare for your big day. Caps, gowns, stoles, announcements, diploma frames, and more will be available at this Johnson Center event.

Winter Grad Fair will be held November 4th and 5th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Dewberry Hall, Johnson Center.

Then: Save the Date

Tickets will be required for all graduation ceremonies. You must apply to graduate to be eligible to claim your tickets and receive graduation communications.

George Mason University’s Winter Graduation ceremonies will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2026, at EagleBank Arena.

Graduates must register in advance to attend their college or school ceremony and claim guest tickets. Eligible graduates will receive an email in mid-October with instructions for registering and requesting guest tickets.

Each Winter Graduation ceremony will include the individual recognition of all doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s degree candidates.

Students are only eligible to attend the ceremony featuring their school or college.

9:30 a.m.

  • Schar School of Policy and Government

Winter Graduation Ceremony 2

2:30 p.m.

  • College of Public Health (CPH)
  • College of Engineering and Computing (CEC)

Winter Graduation Ceremony 3

6:30 p.m.

  • Antonin Scalia Law School
  • College of Education and Human Development (CEHD)
  • College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA)
  • Costello College of Business


 

Please Note

Security measures will be in place at all ceremonies.

Graduates will need a Tassel Stage Pass in order to check in at each ceremony. 

All graduates and guests will go through weapons detection systems.

Working on a thesis or dissertation?

In order to be able to graduate in the Fall 2026 semester, all Master's students writing theses and all Doctoral students writing dissertations must adhere to specific deadlines.
