Students

  • You must be a full time graduate or undergraduate student enrolled at George Mason University
  • Full time means either at least a 12 credit load for undergraduates or 9 credits for graduate students.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot allow non students on the team due to University policy.

Practices

  • 3x 2 hour and 2 x 1.5 hour practices are offered each week. You are required to make at least 2 of these practices.
  • In the event that you must miss a practice, please let either Kiera or Hayley know. You should plan on making up the missed practice by comming to another practice during the week or swimming on your own. Practices are provided on the practices page.
  • Sometimes we have to cancel Saturday practice because the Aquatic and Fitness Center is closed. Please check their website to determine if we have practice on Saturday.

Minimum Swimming Standard

  • While we would like to be able to welcome all interested students, we do not have the coaching staff to provide swim lessons or one on one tutoring. Therefore, we require that all members be able to swim a continuous 200 FR with side breathing and a continuous 100 IM.

Racing

  • You don't have to compete to be on the team.
  • If you do plan on competing, you will need to purchase a team suit and cap in order to enter meets.
  • You will also need to fill out some forms and complete a physical
    • You can do the physical on campus through the Health and Wellness Center for around $50.
