Olympia Dukakis: Rose

  • May 8, 2010 at 8:00 pm

Concert Hall

Olympia Dukakis performs a concert version of her West End and Broadway hit, Rose, the story of a true survivor. Ms. Dukakis shares an unforgettable portrait of an 80-year old Jewish woman, Rose, who comes from a tiny shtetl in the Ukraine. She takes us along on her journey through war-torn Warsaw to the borscht-belts of post-war Atlantic City and modern day Miami Beach. This is not only the story of a feisty survivor, but also a timely reminder of the extraordinary events which have shaped the last century. The New York Times called her production “A tour de force!...Her command of this intimate epic is extraordinary,” and Time Magazine called it “A magnificent performance.”
